Review: KB Collagen Food Supplement Tablets

Happy Sunday! As promised, I'll be doing a review on the products that I have received from Yumei Mise, the official distributor of Kyusoku Bihaku (also known as KB) products here in the Philippines. A little over a month ago,I received a package from them containing several sachets of Rotenyu Meguri (sadly I wasnt able to test this out because I dont have a bath tub, directions stated to dissolve this into 200 liters of water, and I dont have a pail that can house that amount of water, sniff), and a bottle of their newest product which is the KB Collagen Food Supplement. I have used the product for 30 days, and here is what I think about it.

Collagen,as most of us know, is widely marketed and used in the food and cosmetic industry due to its age delaying effects. Please not that I have not used the term "anti aging",and this is because aging is a process that everyone goes thru! But nevertheless, this magic component has been proven to address signs of aging such as dry, matured skin, brittle nails, lifeless hair, etc.,and has been the main ingredient of several age defying creams, lotions, and food supplements. Yumei Mise has been known as a big name in the skin whitening industry, and it's very exciting to know that they have created a product that us women (and men alike) can use to help us delay the dreadful effects of aging.

The product is housed in a plastic, yet sturdy bottle. The box states that each tablet has 200mg of fish peptide collagen, and some other ingredients such as Vit C,coQ10, and pearl powder. Each bottle has 30 tablets, and instructions state that this can be taken 2-3 times a day. In my case,I used this once a day with my multivitamins and 1000mg of vitamin C with rosehips (studies show that collagen, when taken with vitamin C,becomes more potent, thus enhancing its age delaying properties). The product does not have any distinct scent, and while taking this I have not experienced any allergies or breakouts, which is a very good thing.

I have oily combination skin on my face and dry skin on my arms and legs, and when I started taking this product,I have noticed that my skin produced a little bit more oil than the usual, but it also gave me this certain glow on my face. The skin on my face became I wouldnt call it as ethereal, but something was really different, that even hubby noticed it! The skin on my face became softer too. Nothing drastic on my arms and legs, they're still a bit dry,but I think with continuous use, this product would work its magic on them.

At 750 pesos, some may see this price as a little bit steep, but with the effects that you'll be getting,I think that it's totally worth it.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely! This is a product worth trying, especially to those who are in their late 20s like me. Just make sure that you still dont skip on the essentials to make this more effective, like putting on sunblock, eating a balanced diet, and doing exercises regularly, getting enough sleep, etc.

KB Collagen Food S upplement is available in Mercury Drug and Watsons branches.

Another brand on the rise: Essence Cosmetics

Hello there! During one of my trips to SM Megamall,I spotted this new stall at Watsons, and I was definitely pleased with what I saw. Essence,a German (?) brand, has finally hit Philippine shores. Ive come to know them thru my officemate, who swears that their eyebrow styling set is worth checking out. Being the eyebrow freak that I am,I got excited, making a note to myself that should I see it on stock,I'll get one for myself. I have not read a lot of reviews about their products,so I only picked out 2 items, their XXXL shine gel look top coat and their eyebrow stylist set. I'll be doing separate reviews in the upcoming months, but for now, enjoy the pictures! :)

What can you say about Essence products? Are they worth our hard-earned money? Let me know your thoughts! :)

Review: Wet n Wild Ultimate Eyebrow Kit (picture heavy)

Ive come to realize that one thing that I cant live without is eyebrow makeup. I always had bushy eyebrows,so I make sure that I always have them groomed once in a while, but nevertheless,Id still rely on eyebrow kits to "lock" them in place.

I have tried brands like In2it and ELF,and while Im quite satisfied on how they performed,I still cant steer away from trying out new brands. Then I came across Wet N Wild. And Im glad that I did. Is it HG material? Read on.

Note: Pictures were taken using my Note 2's Camera 360 app.

Wet N Wild's Ultimate Eyebrow Kit has received exceptional ratings from MakeUp Alley's members and makeup gurus. The eyebrow kit comes with 2 pans of eyebrow powder, 1 pan of setting wax, 1 pair of tweezers (which is kinda useless), 1 mini slanted brush, and a pull out mirror (which was neglected,LOL).

I got this from Watsons for Php 399,but you may also grab these from Ebay.ph and Natasha dealers. I got mine in the shade of Ash Brown. (and I already hit pan, yey!)

As you can see,the eyebrow powders are VERY pigmented. The swatches shown are very light swatches,so a light hand is necessary while using these. The setting wax comes after the application of the powder, and this is because the wax helps in sealing the product, and it makes the application look very precise and neat. The best part is that when used with the setting wax,it becomes waterproof. Another yey for that! One thing to note though is that this cannot withstand very humid weather conditions,so you may experience some fading in the long run.

Is this HG material? Probably, but what I kinda hate about it is that the tweezers are pretty useless since it's so tiny, and the fact that Watsons jacked up the price on this. But I love this product, and will definitely repurchase (but not from Watsons,LOL).

How about you? What's your top eyebrow product? Let me hear your input! :)

HBC's San San eyeliner: What I love about it

Hello there! Just wanna share with you my latest favorite amongst my eye products. It's the San San eyeliner pen. This product created a buzz in the blogosphere,so when I saw that it's available at an HBC store near my place,I grabbed 2 of them and decided to put them into test.

Initially,I wasnt a big fan of pen eyeliners. I tried numerous brands,ELF and Maybelline to name a few, but all of them are either not that pigmented or it's too wet that it creased even when worn over a primer. But this product changed my perception.

After trying out this product,Im a convert! I wore this for 10 straight hours over my favorite Etude House Proof 10 eyeshadow primer, and the product never transferred onto my lids! Sure there was slight fading on the sides, but that's very acceptable already. I no longer have to worry about looking like a panda or  a raccoon at the end of the day.

I would highly recommend this product to those who wants an effective eyeliner that wont break your bank. This is one item that I would never get tired of.

The San San eyeliner is available in all HBC outlest nationwide for Php 85.

Thrifty Moments: Depotting my Etude House Proof 10 Eyeshadow Primer

We all love buying new stuff for ourselves. Whether it's a new gadget, new clothes, shoes and cosmetics, it's what makes us girls happy and giddy. However,it is also good if we can have all of those items mentioned, while saving a few bucks on the side. This is where the thrifty side of me comes in.

I have read articles on the blogosphere on how some gurus depotted their UD primer potion when it was still housed in its cute but non-practical,genie-type bottle. I have not owned UDPP in the past, however,if in case you've heard of Etude House's Proof 10 eyeshadow primer, this baby is also housed in a very similar container -- plastic bottle, narrow neck, wide body, and a straight, non flexible doe foot applicator. I have posted a picture for your reference.

In a nutshell, it's as troublesome as UDPP's old packaging. However, there's no need to fret, because if they depot UDPP, we can definitely do the same for this fellow. All you need are the following:

- Your Etude House e/s primer

- Razor sharp office cutter

- a container (preferably one made out of frosted glass; otherwise, an airtight cream jar or pot made out of plastic would do)

How to do it:

- Make a small puncture on the bottle using your cutter. This is your starting point.

- Cut through the bottle thru the puncture that you just made using the same cutter. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WHEN DOING THIS. You dont want your fingers getting cut off in the process. Continue until you've reached halfway of the bottle. Then, pull both sides apart.

- From this you'll see how much product's left. Scoop out as much as you could using your doe foot applicator.

- Transfer the contents into your jar. Seal and store.

And there you have it. You've just entended the life of your eyeshadow primer. Just make sure that you use clean fingers when using the product directly from the pot to prevent contamination. Also, keep the container tightly closed at all times to prevent your precious primer from drying out.

Hope this helps! Thanks for reading! ♥♥♥
